If you guys have a problem to update your Xperia X10 2.1 to 2.3 Gingerbread using PC Companion like "Your Phone Already Has The Latest Software" then this is another way for you guys to do it. Actually it's not a problem since Sony already stated that not ALL X10 users will get the new update. But dont worry, you can update it yourself. First of all, you need to download the latest flash tool and the new Generic Version for GB both from Xda Developers forum. [Thanx to the XDA Developers]. Just click on the given link below
1.>FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec
2.>X10i_3.0.1.G.0.75_1241-1846.ftf
When you click run, you will see this message box appear.
1. Choose where you want the .zip files to be extract.
2. Extract the zip files
After you extract it, you will see a folder name FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec. Open it and you will see a bunch of folder like with custom folder, cutom rom, firmwares, blablablabla in it; For the other zip that you download earlier, 3.0.1.G.0.75 .zip, just extract it anywhere you want. After you extract it, you will get the 3.0.1.G.0.75.ftf file. Copy that file into the 'firmwares' folder.

After you downloaded both files, double click at FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec and select run.
When you click run, you will see this message box appear.
1. Choose where you want the .zip files to be extract.

After you extract it, you will see a folder name FlashTool_0.2.9.1-GBready_root_xRec. Click at the X10Flash Tool to run the program. Here's what you will see...
*Now this is the part where you need to pay something for me.. YOUR ATTENTION!*
After you open the program, follow this Step by Step tutorial!!
1. [Your phone] Go to SETTINGS > APPLICATION > DEVELOPMENT > check USB Debugging and check Stay Awake.
2. Turn Off your phone
3. Connect your phone to your pc via Usb Cable.
4. Wait for a sec, and Click FLASH on your X10 Flash Tool program.
5. When you click flash, it will bring you to the 'FIRMWARES' folder. You will see the ftf files in it. Previously, i told you to copy a ftf file in this folder right? This is the reason why i told you so. Select the 3.0.1.G.0.75.ftf file and the program will ready for flashing.
6. When it is ready, the program will tell you to remove Usb Cable and connect it back while pressing the back button of your phone. Just do what it told you to do and you will be fine. That's all. Any questions? You know where to drop it. Cheers!
